About the Editor
For as long as I can remember, the English language has intrigued me. Whether I was writing my own short stories after school or reading in my bed at night with a flashlight, I've always been fascinated by words.
Even with my steadfast love of language, I honestly never thought of pursuing a career in the writing/editing realm; I was more fixated on the idea of becoming a doctor or nurse. However, when I reached college and truly thought about what I was passionate about, I quickly realized that the English world was the place for me.
Since 2015, I've been actively honing in on my writing and editing skills, taking advantage of every opportunity presented to me. From working as a writing coach in my university's writing center to becoming the copy editor of my school's student-run newspaper, I immersed myself headfirst in anything and everything pertaining to writing and editing. I became utterly obsessed with becoming the best I could possibly be.
Then, real life hit, and it was time to find a "big girl" job. I searched endlessly for an editing position that would allow me to showcase my skills in a setting that was conducive to the industries I wanted to be a part of, but I came up short time and time again, sometimes not hearing from prospective employers at all! However, after months and months of searching, I FINALLY landed what seemed to be the perfect job: a copy editing/proofreading position at a high-profile marketing agency.
I was ecstatic, over the moon, and absolutely overjoyed that I would be using my degree just a few months after receiving it. Sadly, though, my excitement was short-lived. I quickly realized how miserable I was in the 9-5 office setting. The job was great, the people were great, and the pay was nothing to scoff at, but I felt completely unfulfilled; I knew I wanted something more.
So, during nights and weekends, I worked tirelessly to create a website, garner some clients, and establish myself as a full-time freelance writer and editor. The flexibility and freedom of the freelance lifestyle was EXACTLY what I needed, and I vowed to work my hardest to make it happen.
And so, I did.
What you've stumbled upon here is a labor of love and my number one passion. Thank you for considering me as a writer or editor for your project, and I hope you can feel the amount of pride and effort I put into each and every project I'm a part of.
